Quantum Learning for Students:
Students learn academic strategies and life skills in programs delivered by Quantum Learning facilitators. Teachers assist, observe and receive debriefs on delivery of content. In addition to the direct value to the students, the program sets context and provides modeling, training and coaching for teachers. Once teachers are trained, they deliver QLS programs to their own students. The student can then use these skills throughout the year.
QL Learning and Life Skills Training: Teachers learn how to teach students academic strategies and life skills that can be applied to any subject to make them more effective learners.
Subjects include reading, writing, thinking, speaking and oral presentations, memory strategies, vocabulary, test-taking, time-management and study skills. Students learn about their own personal learning and communication styles and strategies that support their overall success.
Character education is presented and leads students towards discovery of their personal values and beliefs, and explores how they live their lives. Shared principles are woven into the curriculum.
Life skills include:
• 8 Keys of Excellence: Principles to Live by
• Communication
• Relationship Building
• Taking Ownership and Responsibility – “Living Above the Line”
• Creativity and Problem-Solving
Teachers who take the time to teach these skills at the beginning of the school year find they are able to cover content more efficiently, with higher student comprehension. These skills are reinforced daily and integrated into the curriculum.
